A good reference but very boring.

Unfortunately he employs fairly rigorous observation, logic and common sense......

He usually presents well reasoned and accurate arguments and only offers opinions where he is sure of his info and deductions.

If you don't like boring then try some of the more hysterical outpourings of your New World neighbours.... yes ... you know who I mean.....;)

Let's divide the internet commentators in to three categories.

1) engineers / scientists sometimes with an artistic bent

2) professional photographers with tons of real life experience, who have some technical knowledge, but really aren't engineers or technical experts.

3) Bloggers

Erwin fits in category 1

No he does not have any background, or anything to do with professional engineering / optical science.

I see Puts writes:

"The sensitivity of the [MM] sensor has been increased to ISO 320."

As I understand it (from the recent LFI article by Michael J. Hussman), this is not correct. The M9/MM sensor has a base sensitivity of 320. The apparent ISO160 base sensitivity of the M9 version of the sensor is due to the impact of the colour filters on the light captured by the sensor.

It is nice to have reinforcing reviews from knowledgeable folks, but for me, this is a camera I have been waiting for. The reasons I had pre-ordered the camera are as follows:

1- Clean files at much higher ISO than my M9

2- Same as #1!

Tri:)
