Is this correct? As far as I can make out the first Leica with a hot shoe was the M5 in 1971, by which time it was a common feature on Japanese cameras. luigi bertolotti Posted May 9, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 9, 2012 I think Thorsten referred to the "accessory shoe" - became "hot" many years after - maybe, indeed, its standard shape and measurements were introduced by Leitz for the VF of the first Leicas... but I am not sure of this.
