Hi Andreas, that's fine if you live in the US, but what about the rest of the world? :-) The books all appear to be from the US site and priced in dollars. Are there any plans to introduce a European service?

Thanks

Are there any plans to introduce a European service?

Not only plans - they already exist:

UK:

Leica Camera User Shop - Home Page

Germany:

Bookstore - Bestseller

The British shop is not as far developed as the German and the US shop - but it's only a question of weeks.

If you have suggestions for these shops (or all of them): Please let me know!

Regards

Andreas

A book by one of my all time French photographers Boubat...

And a big and excellent retrospective of Doisneau

Sorry if some of these are already on the list.

The DVDs are fascinating and have soundtracks in the photographers' native language and english.

OKOKOK, I don't know if my French language skills are sufficient, but I'll try...

Give me some time (and more suggestions regarding the US and the German store..)

Andreas, it's easy and not that expensive for anyone from the EU to buy from the French Amazon site if they're already signed an Amazon customer, and being in the EU means that there are no taxes or duties to worry about.

Volume 1 has people such as HCB, Doisneau, Boubat, Koudelka etc. discussing contacts sheets - the same format is repeated for the other 2 volumes in the series.

Andreas, can you explain how the forum makes money from the bookshops. Is it simply by clicking through to Amazon, or is it when one of the titles is bought?

It's only if you buy. The forum gets a small provision depending on the title and how many books were sold that month - it varies from 4 to 6%.

Andreas

Hi Andreas

Ernst Haas' "The Creation" would be on my top 10 list [actually #1], readily available used, but of course, long out of print. Just a thought.

Thanks

GaryP

Obviously a man of rare good taste. That is the essence of Leica photography.

William

For me, Haas was the first [there are still only a few, IMO] whose work was truly artistic.

He just saw things that others didn't, and was able to put his vision onto a piece of film.

He was/is a real inspiration to me.

Thank you

GaryP
