IWC Doppel Posted May 2, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been unable to find a lot on this viewfinder, I am considering this for use with a 21mm and 24mm Elmarit M asph lenses on my recent M9-P purchase. Any thoughts and experiences (other than spend £1200 on two beatiful Leica VFers !) would be appreciated. I do accept if the 25 is accurate the 25 lines will be a little tight. At £200 it could be a nice option. I tried both the 21mm and 24mm at Leica and also the 21 Zeiss. I had a strong preference for the Leica over Zeiss and actually preferred the slightly smaller image of the Leica, not sure why but it felt more like looking at the 'picture' in some way. But at the moment £1200 is not a goer
Advertisement Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Hi IWC Doppel, Take a look here VC 21/25 metal finder. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
kcnarf Posted May 2, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 2, 2012 I, and others, have found the all metal Voigtlander universal viewfinder (15-18-21-25-28-35mm.) to be superb. New, it costs about $500.00.
kokoshawnuff Posted May 2, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 2, 2012 I had the 21/25 finder (about $210), and it was fantastic for the price. There's no offsetting (like the Zeiss) so it won't be as accurate as the Leica, and there is quite a lot of distortion on the framelines, but then again its 1/5th the price. I only used it with a 21mm so I don't know the accuracy of the 25mm lines, but if you use the outside edge of the 25mm lines that should give you plenty of room for a 24mm lens. Either way it's probably worth a try in your situation
antistatic Posted May 3, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 3, 2012 I have the plastic VC 21/25 finder and use it with the 21 super elmar. I find it to be bright and pretty accurate. I feel no great desire to upgrade.
