Washington Posted April 26, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 26, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) My sister found an old camera bag in her attic...and was going to throw it out. She brought it down to me and in it was a 28mm Albinar close focus lens with a Nikon mount. So, for fun I have used an adapter and took meaningless shots just to see if I could. There is no other way to focus except by guessing distance. Hey, what the hell is an a Albinar lens anyway? My old Nikon lens hood didn't work out! leicanut2 Posted April 26, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 26, 2012 Not bad, clear sharp images, what causes the circular image? Jan
Washington Posted April 26, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted April 26, 2012 Jan, Wrong lens hood…. which can’t be seen in the in the view finder. It needs a wider one.
pauledell Posted April 26, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 26, 2012 Images are not bad at all. Maybe try taking pictures without the lens hood. If the subject is front-lighted, you should be OK. Paul
Washington Posted April 26, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted April 26, 2012 pauledell, Naturally, with a rangefinder, I did not know the affect of the old Nikon lens hood. I do now! With an SLR I’d have seen it. But the purpose of this nonsense is to show myself that I do not need a $4,000 lens to take a photo.
