Advertisement Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Fuji Film increasing film prices from end of May. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andym911 Posted April 24, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 24, 2012 Understandable really....but still cheaper than a good Latte so ok with me:) andy
pico Posted April 24, 2012 Share #3 Posted April 24, 2012 I fear that all film manufacturers will follow suit.
andybarton Posted April 24, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted April 24, 2012 I think that Fuji is actually late to this particular game. I found an email the other day, where I'd bought some Kodak Royal Supra for a US member at the time. It cost £1.99 per roll. A similar C41 roll today is probably £
plasticman Posted April 24, 2012 Share #5 Posted April 24, 2012 The 'other' Andy hit the nail on the head really. On the way to work this morning I stopped by a local café and bought a takeout latte and a small cheese sandwich - price: 74 sek ( $11 ) In twenty year's time, when I'm looking at some wonderful pictures of my 3-year old daughter, that latte... well, it's already long gone. Guest suilvenman Posted April 24, 2012 Share #7 Posted April 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe this sounds desperate but as someone who uses only slide film for colour photography and who is trying to find something positive about this prospect, perhaps it will act as an incentive to be even more attentive and selective in my photography. iphoenix Posted April 25, 2012 Share #8 Posted April 25, 2012 If it means that film production will remain viable, it's ok with me. Personally, I'm more concerned about getting film processed conveniently and at an affordable price now that QFL processing in Victoria has gone out of business. Messsucherkamera Posted April 25, 2012 Share #9 Posted April 25, 2012 Even with the impending price increase from Fuji (and others who may follow suit), buying film will still be a more economically viable path to making images than buying an M9 or M9-P. hamey Posted April 25, 2012 Share #10 Posted April 25, 2012 Also agree with the above comments. Frankly I am prepered to pay more for my slide film, as it's the only medium that gives me the full satisfaction of what I want. Only last week I bought the 50mm f/1.4 Lux asph, it cost me a lot of $$$$$$$$$ mainly for use with my M7 loaded with slide film. So I am not to bothered with the price increase of their films. I could never believe in my life time that Kodak could ever let me down with slide film, it's a shame, so it's now all FUJI. I will send a letter of gratitude to Fuji for my FULL support of their products especially their slide film Ken.

I agree with that, but the immediacy of digital can also "put time back in your wallet". Hopefully the business case for manufacturing Fuji's excellent films still works at a price point that users can accept. I still miss Acros 120. Won't this depend on how many images you shoot?

jalLee2001 Posted April 25, 2012 Share #15 Posted April 25, 2012 Anyone ever used the Agfa/Rollie slide film? It is pretty cheap in the US.

Joachim123 Posted April 25, 2012 Share #17 Posted April 25, 2012 I dont mind the price increas as long as they keep supplying slide film. Kodak doesnt exsist for me anymore since they announced that they would discontinue slide film.
andybarton Posted April 25, 2012 Author Share #18 Posted April 25, 2012 Yes, but Kodak still make Tri-X. All is forgiven.
budrichard Posted April 26, 2012 Share #19 Posted April 26, 2012 I stopped ALL Kodak purchases when Kodak discontinued Kodachrome. Just ourchased a supply of Fuji slide film from Adorama in 5 round boxes. Its in stock because it shipped yesterday. Whatever happened to 20 roll 'bricks'? Its impossible to find color reverssl film locally in Wisconsin and now that the kodachrome is out of the freezer, I have room for the Fuji!-Dick
