COOP666 Posted April 11, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 11, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) My "barn find" 1946 Ford. Hot rodded in the 50's with a '55 Chevy 265 small block bolted to the stock 3-speed trans. Painted at least three different colors, (with a brush) then left in a barn in North Dakota for 50 years to age like a fine wine. Looks like hell, goes like spit. pauledell Posted April 11, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 11, 2012 Great shots of a rare find. It's a shame they didn't leave it stock. Paul
COOP666 Posted April 11, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted April 11, 2012 As a hot rod guy, I appreciate the period modifications. I'm leaving it as is, except for a new interior made from vintage materials. Then I'm gonna drive the hell out of it.

stuny Posted April 12, 2012 Share #5 Posted April 12, 2012 Coop - Terrific find, lovely shots. You're lucky it didn't become home to several families of field mice. In the last few years there's been a trend towards restoring vehicles to cosmetically used status rather than pristine.
COOP666 Posted April 12, 2012 Author Share #6 Posted April 12, 2012 Yeah, it would be easy to finish the body and paint it shiny, but next to impossible to recreate 60 years of patina. The Japanese call it wabisabi.
