paulholland27 Posted April 9, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Guys, I'm a regular hoverer and really enjoy the site but rarely post, im just looking for a little help. I'm working in Lightroom 4 and have decided to try out blurb. All my shots were captured using an M9 in raw but the trouble is is that i have used Nik silver Efex to create the B & W images but at 254 dpi, do i need to re process the images at 300dpi? I'm looking to create a large landscape 13 x 11 book. Also is it advisable to resize the images externally(Lightroom/photoshop) before creating the book or does it not make any difference. I would really appreciate your help and any tips are greatly received Cheers, Paul

vanhulsenbeek Posted April 11, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 11, 2012 What kind of images will work in BookSmart? Try searching Blurb.com, example above. You will se that Blurb accepts anything between 150 and 300 dpi But....it is far easier to forget about dpi. It is the max resolution (of the biggest side of the picture) that counts plus the size of you file. As the maxres is 4000 pixels, I always export all my pictures to jpg, max quality and 3995 max size. (The webpage quoted is a bit confusing as they link the maxres to scans. That is nonsense, as it is the digital file that counts) Do also not to forget the use the Blrb ICC profile: http://blurb.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/75#__utma=1.591501670.1334135711.1334135711.1334135711.1&__utmb=1.28.8.1334136470675&__utmc=1&__utmx=-&__utmz=1.1334135711.1.1.utmcsr=google|utmccn=(organic)|utmcmd=organic|utmctr=(not%20provided)&__utmv=1.google!organic!organic!not%20provided!|3=Registered=172532=1&__utmk=73110035 In my view: as important as the size! Check out my books at Search Results | Blurb But I have not found ou how to uses that for the softproofing in LR4.
