jaapv Posted April 4, 2012 Share #3 Posted April 4, 2012 Welcome on the forum. That is a nice example of moiré which is discussed quite often here. The search function will yield dozens of threads and hundreds of posts. It is due to the M8 and M9 not having an AA filter in front of the sensor for better sharpness and more effective resolution, like most medium format cameras and the new Nikon D800E. See the M9 FAQ http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m9-forum/130720-m9-faqs-frequently-asked-questions-answers.html#post1585114 http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m9-forum/130720-m9-faqs-frequently-asked-questions-answers-2.html#post1585125
MUYG Posted April 4, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted April 4, 2012 Thanks a lot !! So is there any solution with a filter for Moire problem ?
MUYG Posted April 4, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted April 4, 2012 Also I don't know what is ACR and C1 ?
jaapv Posted April 4, 2012 Share #6 Posted April 4, 2012 ACR is the raw (DNG) developer for Lightroom and Photoshop, C1 is short for the Capture One raw developing software. The way to combat moiré is either to take a slightly less sharp photo or to deal with it in post processing.
tobey bilek Posted April 6, 2012 Share #7 Posted April 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica leaves off the blur or AA filter in front of the sensor. You get a sharper image but occasionally get moire which I don`t happen to see in this photo. Moire sort of looks like the oil slick circles on a wet road. Is that what you refer to? It sometimes happens with fine repeating textures. UseGoogle for instructions on how to remove.
jaapv Posted April 8, 2012 Share #8 Posted April 8, 2012 Unfortunately the OP has removed his image from Flickr. This was the more geometrical variant of moiré as I recall.
