Weak Dedents on New 50/1.4

The aperture dedents on my brand new 50/1.4 ASPH. seem very weak compared to my other M lenses. Is this something that can be adjusted? In N.J.?

Thanks,

Mitchell

All my M and R lenses seem to have a weak detent of the aperture ring. Some stronger then others but all weaker then I remember with old Nikon lenses and new fixed focal lenght AF Nikon lenses. Even my 2 new M lenses can be moved very easily from one stop to another.

it's so you can do it with one finger without removing the camera from your face, I think...

Don't know about N.J. but, yes they can be adjusted. I have had a couple of older lenses adjusted to be more positive in the past.

This was by one of the top Leica repair guys in the UK, so not really any use to you i'm afraid.

I bought a new 24 that had that problem - returned it and the next one was much better. I think the newer lenses both have weaker detents and are more variable.

I couldn't use it the way it was - just brushing it would change the aperture.

Thanks everyone.

I spoke to Leica US, and they suggested I exchange for a different lens with the dealer if they have one. ( They don't.) Leica also said that it's a minor adjustment, and they should be able to turn it around in a day if I send it to them.

I'm not sure there's any practical reason to get it changed. But, I don't like the weak dedents as much.

Best,

Same here .... no comparison to the more solid feel of the old pre-asph lux...

Also had to spend a couple of hours turning the focusring back and forward to make it smoother ..... now it's quite good and workable.... but stil no comparison to some of my older lenses!
