pramanan Posted March 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The presence of domestic cat alarmed this squirrel which was jumping from one branch to another, which I have recorded thro' my window using V LUX-1 in B & W mode. stuny Posted March 2, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 2, 2007 P.Ramanan - Beautiful "pose", terrific details, texture and selective focus. I think, however, shooting through the window glass took some of the snap away from the shot. Below I've added some. BTW: Are the squirrels on the first page of my site's India photos the same species?
pramanan Posted March 3, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted March 3, 2007 One you have photographed in north india is Fivestriped Palm Squirrel. The coat is lighter than Threestriped Palm Squirrel which predominates in the southern part of India. But some places both species may hoever be found living in the same area. From your pic as the dorsal stripes are not visible and the coloration is lighter than ours' I presumes the one you have in your site is the Fivestriped Palm Squirrel. Thanks for viewing and the comments. With Regards, P.Ramanan.
