leicamann Posted March 28, 2012 Share #1  Posted March 28, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Vancouver Orchid Show 2012 was fantastic, if for nothing other than the fantastic scents and perfumes, wafting over people, or the incredible varieties and colours.  From a photographers perspective it was a nightmare, fluorescent lights, wires, signs, low dim light ,plants crowded against each other, gaudy drapery, tacky plant name tags, a tremendous challenge for macro photography.  Lenses used: R 100mm Macro Elmar F4.0 mit bellows, R 100 mm APO Macro Elmarit F2.8, R 60mm Macro Elmarit F2.8, and finally for a few shots the R 180mm Apo Telyt F3.4, all with the R9/DMR mit Manfrotto monopod. Post processing from RAW with the new Adobe CS6.0 Beta.. a huge leap and help for photographers.  For those who don't mind going to a link, please feel free to visit my webpage that has over 50 images from the show..  Sea Otter Studios | Vancouver Orchid Society Show March 24/25th 2012  Thanks for looking   Images are in order of the prizes, #1 ..First prize..etc..maybe the orchid specialists or Pieter Brouwer..if he feels like it can say something about these plants.  Cheers, JRM
