M8China Posted March 25, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I took over a M-mount CV 15mm/4.5 Super Heliar ASPH bought sometime ago by a friend who found it unusable on his M9 grey steel last year. I used it on my M8.2 and found it excellent. I tried on my M9-P recently and found it to work fine except little red edges when manually set to 21mm/2.8 code 11134. I understand CornerFix can cure but wondering is there a cure in LR4 too. Can anyone in the know shed some light on this subject? Incidentally the first CV 15mm I bought was a LTM version which I used on M8.2 with an adapter, and worked just fine. I now found it to be out of focus on M9-P, any comment? M8China Posted March 25, 2012 Author Share #2 Posted March 25, 2012 Please do not respond to this subject, I found that the lens is not useable on M9 as it vignettes seriously to be of any use, even when set to 21mm/2.8 code 11134. The m-mount version works fine with little red edge. Thanks.
Double Negative Posted March 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 25, 2012 The optical formula hasn't changed between the two versions. In any event - Cornerfix will fix both red edge and vignetting.
jaapv Posted March 25, 2012 Share #4 Posted March 25, 2012 Yes - or a simple LCC profile in Capture one. A bit of a non-issue imo. I don’t use it too much any more since I got a SuperElmar 18, but with proper post processing it is just fine on the M9.

TBL Posted March 25, 2012 Share #6 Posted March 25, 2012 I agree that the colored edges are so easy to process in Capture One, that it became a bit of a non-issue indeed. In the beginning i tried cornerfix, which works, but is archaïc and ssssllllooooowwwww. Capture one is really great. How is LR4 working with this problem? As good as capture one? CornerFix shouldn't be slow. The latest versions are ridiculously fast--I can correct an entire folder of images in just a few seconds. It's still by far the best solution if you aren't using C1. I haven't tried the LCC in C1 as I found the interface of C1 unreasonably difficult to use with my workflow. Jeff
M8China Posted March 26, 2012 Author Share #9 Posted March 26, 2012 Thanks all, I will try the cornerfix asap.
gbealnz Posted March 27, 2012 Share #10 Posted March 27, 2012 I use mine (LTM) with an adaptor which has the 6 bit coding. Works well, with just a touch of CornerFix required. Gary
