jneilt Posted March 26, 2012 Share #21 Â Posted March 26, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) here is a review of their product. This should be the thread of the year. Â Walter RX Eyepiece | La Vida Leica! Â OP- I know your frustration. I once emailed Dow to get some information on their ziplock bags. I wanted to store film in them and wanted them to tell me if their bags would keep my film fresh in the freezer. Some bags are gas permeable and last thing I want is my film to smell like the cod in my freezer or to get other moisture in their containers. Imagine the horror should my new MP start smelling of cod after a summer day shooting film. Â I emailed them 2 or 3 times on this...and they said their bags would keep moisture out, but they never did address the cod issue. Bummer. I really wanted to buy their bags. Double Negative Posted March 27, 2012 Share #22 Â Posted March 27, 2012 We're not "enthusiasts" or "promoters." We're just satisfied customers that are telling you the product works. What more do you want? Â But thanks for your post - the matter is starting to make sense...

walterleica Posted March 27, 2012 Share #25  Posted March 27, 2012 My name is Walter. I am the hands on manufacturer of all the Walter RX eyepieces. Each one is custom made by me in person.  I also find time to study the forums were debates are started relating to Astigmatism , Leica and the eyepiece its self. I usually do not partake much, but this time I am unable to resist.  Jean-Louis keeps me posted with all important correspondence. I have received all the email inquires you have sent us and we have responded in unison to all of them. But they still keep coming. I understand from your emails to me that you have tried a few other products and they have not met your expectations. You have spend a substantial sum of money trying to find a solution and are scared to throw good money after bad.  Now you are taking to the forum to seek a reply to the obscure question. "Will this work for me ?"  Firstly, I would like to thank the forum for standing up to the Walter eyepiece in its defence and siding with us that it is a tricky question for a manufacture to answer.  We are confident about the Walter RX Eyepiece that it does what it is designed to do, but to ask us if it will work for you ! This is not a question I can answer directly. Again, the forum has come up to our defence and has answered this confidently as end users of the product.  Our customers are happy with the eyepiece's ability to solve the problem of astigmatism. Not all our customers are happy with the price and from time to time we have to bear other forms of criticism which we gladly do. This has led us to make some improvements. (read below)  What I can do as an exception for you, and to put this matter to bed, is to offer you a "MONEY BACK GUARANTEE."  Please go ahead, place your order using the system on the webpage www.walterrxeyepiece.com and we will produce your custom made eyepiece as per your prescription. If it is not to your satisfaction, you are welcome to return for a "FULL REFUND".  This is the confidence I have in the product and that it will meet your expectations. But at some stage, you are going to have to commit first, I am not bale to do this for you.  In doing so you will also benefit from our new revised design. Now the Walter RX eyepiece will fit all your Leica M cameras and can easily be transferred from your M9 to your M8 M7 M6....... all the way to your M2 with ease. It now screws into the rangefinder camera eyepiece much like a Leica diopter does, as opposed to the older model that screwed onto and over the eyepiece.  It is so new that the webpage has yet to be updated, but a sneak preview is available here.  Leica diopter M9 titanium | Walter RX Leica M rangefinder astigmatism rotating eyepiece  Displayed is the new model on a LEICA M9 titanium made from highly polished stainless steel. A special order. The standard one in matt black has the same new design.  Walter

It offers me the assurance I have been looking for that the purchase of your eye piece will be a good investment. I have ordered the eye-piece in the meantime. I also thank you for the "money guarantee" but see no need to accept this offer!
farnz Posted March 31, 2012 Share #30 Â Posted March 31, 2012 Walter, Â Thank you for taking the time to intercede, hopefully resolve the original poster's concern, and show such confidence in your product that you publicly offer the OP a money-back guarantee. Â Nothing could have convinced me more to invest in your product if I had a need for it. It is exceptionally rare in my experience for a manufacturer to publicly respond online owing to the risk of becoming a magnet for the mindless fools who post negative comments and insults for the fun of it while hiding behind pseudonyms with no concept of the consequences of their actions. Hopefully you won't experience that on this forum but huge respect to you for taking the risk to support your product and your business. Â Pete.
