stuny Posted March 9, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted March 9, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) While in the Antarctic waters we frequently saw humpback whales, as well as huge pods of killer whales, twice with over 80 members - there were some NOA scientists aboard to count and tag killer whales so I'm confident in their counts. Â Visit our site to see much more of the Antarctic. Â

Your Old Dog Posted March 10, 2012 Share #7 Â Posted March 10, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I hope I'm not being too critical here but I think it's an absolutely great shot but that it could use a little post work. I suspect for my liking there is some color massaging that could be done in Light Room that would make the image sing for me and become a wall hanger. Just my opinion, don't take offense. My judgement comes from all the great images I have seen on this particular computer screen and this leaves a little to be desired in either color or contrast for more snap. It is a terrific image though, make no mistake about that.
stuny Posted March 10, 2012 Author Share #8 Â Posted March 10, 2012 Jim - Thank you. The scientists went out in a Zodiac admid the killer whale pods, armed with a crossbow which would leave a geo-tracker attached to the dorsal fin, detatched from teh bolt's shaft which they'd reel in. they claimed that the killer whales did not experiecne any pain form the tagging, and it certainly appeared that way as we watched through binoculars. Â Ray - Thank you. Please explain exactly what you have in mind so that I can attempt it.
