cohen16 Posted March 2, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 2, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I just bought my first Leica this week, a D Lux 5, and find that the LCD doesn't show exactly what the lens is looking at especially in manual mode, so even though on the LCD it looks fine, when I press on the shutter the picture focuses in and the picture becomes really dark. This could be a really stupid question but is there a setting I can change so that the LCD always shows the real view of what the lens is looking at? I switched from an NEX-5 which doesn't have that issue.

farnz Posted March 2, 2012 Share #2 Posted March 2, 2012 Hi, Welcome to the forum! Could it be that your LCD screen is turned up very bright? This might result in what you're experiencing. Another thing that comes mind is that if you're using spot metering then the action of pushing the shutter button might be enough to throw the spot to a bright object causing the picture to underexposure. One last idea is if you've been using exposure compensation, the D-Lux 5 is still set to, say, -2, and you haven't noticed? Pete.
