Advertisement Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Hi altrimondi, Take a look here C.Zeiss lens bBiogon 28/2.8 on leica M9-P. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
StephenPatterson Posted February 29, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted February 29, 2012 The M9-P has internal frame lines for 28mm, so I would not use the Voigtlander 21/25 with that lens. Why not consider the Voigtlander 28mm external viewfinder? Â I have no experience with the 28/2.8 Biogon but my prior experience with Zeiss lenses on my M8 was very positive (21/2.8 and 35/2.8)

So, the viewfinder 21/25, probable will be also ok?
altrimondi Posted February 29, 2012 Author Share #4 Â Posted February 29, 2012 I apologies to all for my previous mistake in the last thread: I have a M9-P and I wish to add to my lenses a Carl Zeiss Biogon 21 mm/2.8 and a viewfinder Voigtlander 21/25mm. StephenPatterson Posted February 29, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted February 29, 2012 The Zeiss 21/2.8 Biogon is a fantastic lens on the M9, and I believe you will be very happy with the results. I have not used the external VF you mention, the CV 21-25, but it should be adequate when combined with reviewing the image on the LCD for framing accuracy. Â Be sure to code the Zeiss 21 for best results with the latest M9 firmware. Uncoded the lens has pronounced vignetting and magenta edge, but the new firmware removes almost all of this. Of course you can manually set the code on the M9, but this is very inconvenient as many people forget to change the code when changing lenses. 250swb Posted February 29, 2012 Share #7 Â Posted February 29, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) The f/2.8 21mm Biogon is excellent on the M9. Colours are superb, sharp at all apertures, and nice OOF rendering. I use it with either a Leica plastic 21mm viewfinder, or the plastic CV viewfinder, both are OK but I prefer the CV even though people criticise some mild distortion. The new versions of the lens have a groove machined in the mount so you can add your own coding and which is easy to do. Â Steve
roguewave Posted February 29, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted February 29, 2012 The f/2.8 21mm Biogon is indeed a superb lens. You don't really need to use an external finder. If you set the camera & just look at the full frame in the viewfinder you will be close to the full frame. Make a few test shots & compare. That way you will be more spontaneous in your shooting instead of continually looking through both windows & by then the shot may be long gone.
