wlaidlaw Posted February 27, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just received my Elephoto M42 to Leica M adapter and, notwithstanding the appalling weather here, thought I would give it try with the MC-Zenitar 16mm Fish-eye on the M8. I post a couple of examples not intended for any artistic merit but just to show that it all works reasonably well and I think I will be using it quite a bit. The TTL metering is not too bad and even on the flash is OK with the SF24-D on A mode. On GNC it over-exposes by about 3 stops. The only problem with the adapter is that there is no ring or tab to depress the auto-diaphragm pin. I have therefore temporarily made a little ramp out of a cut-up flat vacuum cleaner belt and soft-glued it to the inside of the adapter, so that I can remove it later for something more permanent. What amazes me is how little vignetting there is. There is less than I used to get with the 10x the price Zeiss Hologon on the G2. Â Wilson

wlaidlaw Posted February 27, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted February 27, 2007 Can this M42 to M adapter be coded? Â Maybe with Sharpie or Dremel but seems to work fine without. Â Wilson
gduveen Posted February 27, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted February 27, 2007 Can this M42 to M adapter be coded? Â I'm not sure about that adapter, but the Leica M42 to M adapter (22232) could be coded since there is no cut out on it. But what would you code it as? Is the code for the WATE specific for each focal length? Or should we wait for the new firmware to see if it includes the possibility of manually setting a focal length?
