usm Posted February 27, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi! Which one of the following adapters is the best one to use with CV 15mm and for coding on a M8? Thanx! Mario
lars_bergquist Posted February 27, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted February 27, 2007 Which one really doesn't matter because there is no finder frame for that length in any case. I am using mine with a C/V 35/135 bayonet adapter and an old-style single-length 21 mm bright frame finder. The only thing you will need the camera finder for is for checking the auto shutter speeds or manual exposure. george + Posted February 27, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted February 27, 2007 What Lars says is correct. You should also note that there is a cutout on all the adapters I have seen which makes the 6 bit code sensors partially visible. The two upper adapters above show this clearly (below the word WETZLAR) but the 9cm may work.
doubice Posted February 27, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted February 27, 2007 Mario, Â If you are thinking of hand-coding the adapter, than the 90mm one is best suitable. It has enough space for coding, the other two adapters are of later manufacture and their cut-out will be in the way of the coding. Â As to which frame lines are brought up, I don't believe it makes any difference, as Lars mentioned above. Â All the best, Â Jan
Guest guy_mancuso Posted February 27, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted February 27, 2007 I have a 90mm coming today or tomorrow found one and it cost me a fortune, water under the bridge but all I really need to code is the Black marks and don't worry about the white ones, is that correct. Sounds like my black Lexus touch - up paint bottle maybe the answer
harmsr Posted February 27, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted February 27, 2007 If your guys want to code the lens then it does matter. You need an adaptor that brings up the modern 28/90 frame lines. The lens detection works on the coding and the frame line selector. They need to match if the lens detection and therefore cyan correction (coming) / vignetting correction (existing) works. Â Use the 90 that you show. It also has the advantage of not being cut out in the area of the coding, for the original infintity locks of the 50 lenses.
