spydrxx Posted February 25, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted February 25, 2012 In German the "ei" combination is pronounced (in English) like "ie" in the phrase to tell a lie.
Michael Geschlecht Posted February 25, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted February 25, 2012 Hello Redridge, Â Generally in German double vowels are pronounced w/ the 1st vowel silent & the second vowel long. For example: "eis" in German is pronounced the same as "ice" in English. Â English is usually the reverse. 1st vowel of a pair long. 2d silent: Pie. Â Best Regards, Â Michael
