Artisan and Artist bags - merged thread

The last A&A product I ordered was from Photo Village - they sent me their own Black Bag product instead. I was not impressed. I won't be using them again.

I bought a Black Label bag from Photo Village and it has served me well, all over the world. I did not order an A&A from them but their own bag. It has a black insert divider instead of the red one A&A's come with. Their insert actually has an outer liner that repels instead of felt that the A&A bags have.

It is well designed and even in the rain my M9 stays dry.

John, did you send the bag back to them?

A&A goods are still available through other dealers.

I know Popflash sells A&A inserts which I have used in backpacks with much success. Some backpacks allow one to stack 2 A&A red inserts atop each other. I bought two sizes from them and put the bigger one on the bottom and the smaller one on top. Works well for to and from airline travel (or train travel in Europe) where afterwards I then relocate items as need be sometimes into smaller shoulder bags which I have put into my checked luggage for this express purpose.

In addition I sometimes with smaller M lenses use the Lensbaby hard cases for transport in these A&A inserts where one can stack 2 M lenses atop each other in Lensbaby cases while taking up just one section of the insert (which usually gives one 3 sections) thereby allowing for many lenses to be taken if required. I realize this is counter to the traveling light philosophy, but gives one versatility when needed.

Thanks Al. I had a look at their website, but I couldn't see inserts for sale as a separate item.

No, too far away. I sold it.

It's not that I disliked the bag. It was not what I ordered. It was deceptive.

I heard of them doing the same thing to multiple others. It looks like they stole/copied a lot of the designs from A&A and are now using them, only keeping the A&A products listed on their site as a way of deceptively promoting their own line. I'm sure it equates to at least some sales, banking on the fact that people will be a little annoyed but find the bag good enough so as not to bother with returning it.

I also looked at their website and could no longer find A&A inserts like they used to sell. Perhaps a call or question to them will help. Be proactive.
