philipus Posted February 10, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know Leica sometimes made special editions of their camera bodies with matching lenses, like the M6 Ein Stück Leica. But was this ever done with the M6 Millennium? Cheers Philip

Guest Holy Moly Posted February 11, 2012 Share #3 Posted February 11, 2012 Afaik, no : "millenium edition" M6 TTL was packed in a special box - body only. At cameraquest.com one can find lot of infos about the many "special" M6. The Millenium M6 had three Black Paint lenses as 35mm f2, 50mm f1.4 and 90mm. The 50mm Summilux Black Paint had the retractable sunshade. This lens I used together with my BP MP: instruments | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Guest Holy Moly Posted February 11, 2012 Share #6 Posted February 11, 2012 When I remeber well, there was no special engraving. The complementing color to the black paint was red including the small plastic dot. The outer carton was white as usual for the earlier years. This lens had the best supersmooth feeling and resistance of the focusring. Unbelievable! Here one of my rare pics with this lens. At that time I started again b&w developing and scanning. The pic was made with my M7, really as a beginner in FR photography........ Guest Ron (Netherlands) Posted February 15, 2012 Share #7 Posted February 15, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) How are the lenses "matched" to the Millenium ? Do they have some specific engraving or numbering ? AFAI the last 4 digits of the number of the lens ressembles the last 4 digits of the number of the camera but the first digits are different: So for example if you have M6 2500095, you have a matching 35mm lens with nr. 4000095 (nr. 4000001 till 4002000 are 2000 black paint matching millennium summicrons. And yes I have seen them also sold as kits. Never found mine btw :-(
