pig882009 Posted February 1, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted February 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have recently bought a new 35mm Summilux lens (latest version with floating element) from a dealer where I got all my Leica gear. Â Since I have dealt with this shop many times, I believe the shop owner is looking after me. Â I paid $4900 (Aus $) for the lens and waited for 7 weeks. Â Is $4900 a reasonable price for a 35 lux? Advertisement Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Hi pig882009, Take a look here Lens Price Question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pedaes Posted February 1, 2012 Share #2  Posted February 1, 2012 I think the recommended price in UK is £3595(GBP), and "my" dealer is advertising at £3465. These figures include 20% VAT, so if you take that off, convert and add your VAT you should have a reasonable figure. Leica publish recommended prices in UK, is that not the case with you? hillavoider Posted February 7, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted February 7, 2012 We get ripped off 99% of the time in Australia, however $4900 seems to be okay, on b&h photo they are 4995US, i always compare with them as they are pretty competitive, so you did alright, nice lens i am jealous.
