Ivar B Posted January 30, 2012 Share #3 Posted January 30, 2012 A high price but this seems to be the market price at present.
luigi bertolotti Posted January 30, 2012 Share #4 Posted January 30, 2012 Yes... as Ivar says, that seems to be a "market" price... in another thread I commented on the price (in the same range) asked by another well known dealer about 10 days ago ... worth noting, the item now is no more available at that dealer's... philipus Posted January 30, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted January 30, 2012 That's interesting. Based on scarcity, were that to be defined as 4,000 produced items, then we would see significant price increases in other Leica gear, too.
wattsy Posted January 30, 2012 Share #6 Posted January 30, 2012 Yes, not such a crazy price in today's market. Looks to be in pretty good shape too.
aesop Posted January 30, 2012 Share #7 Posted January 30, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) ...gotta love these collector/investor types. I wonder if the focusing is spot on across the board?

Can be... but this can be also seen as a well coordinated move by some top dealers who maybe have quietly collected in the years a certain item to "corner" the market at a certain moment,,, a play that is worth on certain items which have a known limited number and, for various reasons, have a certain "aura" on them. [/quote] Read my comments in the same thread You had a point ... "no more availble" doesn't necessarly mean "sold"... ... I didn't take note of the s/n of the "Wien" item... and neither of the "Milan" items, which in turn have already disappeared...

I have two, one I bought to use, which is on my camera most of the time, and a second came up LNIB so I bought it as a backup in case I damaged the first. Maybe I should sell one of them whilst the prices are high... BTW I thought the original production batch was supposed to be 2000 units and they had so many manufacturing problems making it economically they didn't finish the first 2000 and never attempted a second batch. Guest Posted February 6, 2012 Share #16 Posted February 6, 2012 People interested in this special lens should think, there is a real market for such over-priced items. Show your dog a sausage, hide it, show it again, and so on....If he likes you, he will only get a wet mouth perhaps, if not he might bite you... I know well the dealer hereby quoted... and think I'll never bite him.... btw, I has been always satisfied with some good and "normal" sausages he cooked for me in the years...
