I bought a second hand Ricoh GRX with the M-module this week. I have soon sold all my DSLR gear so I want a backup. I also had the ideas to use it with my Tele Elmar 135/4.

Focusing was not so easy as it seemed when I was playing with the camera at home. It takes practice. Anyway this one came out ok, many others didn't. But it is a nice little camera that is well built. I used ISO1250 at f4 and 1/310 sec.

Thanks for your comments; Jaap and Paul. The original was not blown out, far from it, but I chose to make the snow white. It always a tricky choice with snow. I increased the exposure with 2/3 EV. Here is the original version:

Never make highlights 255 255 255. That is the same as paper white. Could you try to pull down highlight recovery, increase brightness and pull in the blacks again in ACR ? That will gain detail in the snow whilst keeping the whiteness.

Thanks for your comments Jaap. I went back to the original DNG-file and reprocessed it. I never used highlight recovery in Lightroom, but I was doing something in Sliver Efex. This is the original file with +1/3 eV exposure and some local brightness and sharpening around the bird, all done in LR. Considering that it was shot at ISO 1250 I think it is a rather god file. I will take the GXR out for a walk this afternoon.
