IWC Doppel Posted January 25, 2012 Share #1  Posted January 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well you have to don't you when you pop in......  I took one for a spin at Leica Mayfair. Wow it's a big fella, feels awesome  I will download from my M8 when home, but the viewfinder pics look superb and dreamy. I CAN see the attraction in a dimly lit shop 1/45 at ISO 160 !  Crikey I'd LOVE to borrow this for an evening with friends on an M9. FrozenInTime Posted January 25, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted January 25, 2012 Very dangerous place to visit - ideas get planted in your mind. Â In late 2009 I called in to the Mayfair shop and played with the M9, 21 Summilux and Noctilux. Â I resisted the M9 and Noctilux but a couple of weeks later the worm in my brain had grown and I bought a 21 Summilux. Â Then just before Christmas 2011, I convinced myself it would be a good idea to replace the Noctilux I sold in 2000, for a pittance compared with todays prices, with the new one. thighslapper Posted January 25, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted January 25, 2012 Thankfully Leicas lack of stock prevents foolish impulsive purchases.... Â I would be bankrupt if Leica Mayfair could actually sell me something every time I visited....

FrozenInTime Posted January 26, 2012 Share #9 Â Posted January 26, 2012 How happy are you with the 21 Summilux? Â Yes happy with it's performance - but I'm not yet at ease with it. It's a lens that likes to be used at a slow pace - focus and parallax are challenging when using it up close and wide open.
