BRJR Posted January 24, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted January 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't know how many lenses they have; but, they just sent me an email (today, 24 Jan 2012) with their link to the lens. If you live in the USA, where this lens has been scarce --- provided you hurry, now is your chance to finally get one, before it's sold out: Â (here's the link) Â The Photo Village :: Cameras & Photo Gear :: Digital & 35mm Film Cameras :: 35mm Film Cameras :: 35mm Systems (by Brand) :: Leica 35mm System :: M Series :: Lenses & Accessories :: Lenses :: Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux-M Aspherical Lens -- Black
Advertisement Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Hi BRJR, Take a look here Photo Village, Currently Has Leica 35mm Summilux-m Lens In Stock. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bpalme Posted January 25, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted January 25, 2012 Looks like they're charging above list price too.
StephenPatterson Posted January 25, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted January 25, 2012 But at least they're not charging DigitalRev stupid over list pricing (for lenses that they don't have BTW). Â My dealer emailed today that he has one for me, so there must have been a batch from Germany that just arrived.
bpalme Posted January 25, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted January 25, 2012 I hope Popflash got some.. I'm slowly moving up the list.

LeicaPassion Posted January 25, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted January 25, 2012 I have made several purchases at Photo Village in the past. My personal policy is not to do business with any dealer who charges more than list price.
StephenPatterson Posted January 25, 2012 Share #7 Â Posted January 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree that I don't like doing business with non-authorized Leica dealers, as my recent, completely balls up dealings with DigitalRev confirm. It's best just to wait for the legitimate guys to get the stock and pay a fair price. Â The "speculators" can get stuffed as far as I'm concerned (although I do enjoy Kai's videos...just wish he worked for a legitimate company). ymc226 Posted January 25, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted January 25, 2012 Does that mean that Photo Village is not an official dealer when it charges more than list?
StephenPatterson Posted January 25, 2012 Share #9 Â Posted January 25, 2012 Charging more than MSRP is a no-no for authorized Leica dealers. Saying that the price that Photo Village is apparently charging for the 35 Summilux ASPH FLE is well under what other scalpers have been asking. ymc226 Posted January 25, 2012 Share #10 Â Posted January 25, 2012 I just looked on the Leica USA website under dealers in NYC. Photo Village isn't listed but so isn't B&H. Am I mistaken? However, Photo Village is listed under dealers participating in the a la carte program. What does this mean when they charge more than MRSP. Given the choice, I would support a dealer that does not gouge its customers. In that regard, B&H has done well by me.
jneilt Posted January 25, 2012 Share #11 Â Posted January 25, 2012 IMO...there are a few dealers who sell barely used stuff for slightly over new list. I would assume they open these, use them as demos, then sell them as used. I don't think Leica would have control over the used market. The consumer is going to say..."I have been waiting and waiting and this is almost new, for only 200 more..." Â I would pass and just get in the queue. Â FYI...popflash has a new silver summicron-m asph in 35 at list.
smkoush Posted January 25, 2012 Share #12 Â Posted January 25, 2012 Also, I just noticed that POPFLASH has a used Noctilux 0.95 available.
jeverettfine Posted January 25, 2012 Share #13 Â Posted January 25, 2012 I know it is not the current aspherical version, but an 80's vintage 35 Summilux in nice shape with the lens hood sold for $2150 at Precision Camera here in Austin. I was tempted. How much better is the new aspherical version?
Double Negative Posted January 25, 2012 Share #14 Â Posted January 25, 2012 Also, I just noticed that POPFLASH has a used Noctilux 0.95 available. Â "Used" is putting it mildly - sounds like it was dragged behind a truck.
