Ray Anthony Posted January 17, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted January 17, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Newbie here! I purchased my 28mm Summicron last summer. I just noticed today as I was doing a lens cleaning that the outer ring at the end of the lens which the lens-shade clips onto is slightly loose. I never noticed this before. I don't think it affects the glass but it seems odd that it would be loose. Is that the way it is made or do I need to send it in for repair?

egrossman Posted January 17, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted January 17, 2012 I just checked my 28mm Summicron... it's the same. This is completely normal. Â Erik
250swb Posted January 17, 2012 Share #3  Posted January 17, 2012 Its not normal, but it loosens over a period of time. The screws can't be very efficient and they do take the load of the lens hood, especially if the lens hood is held when mounting and dismounting the lens from the body. You need a 1.4mm screwdriver and some easily available common sense on how to use it  Steve

Ray Anthony Posted January 18, 2012 Author Share #5 Â Posted January 18, 2012 Steve (or anyone), it looks like I am missing one of the three screws. Is this something I can contact Leica to replace?
