likealeica Posted January 10, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just bought the Panasonic M adapter to use my Leica M lenses with an Olympus EPL-3. Lens mounts, but nothing works. No manual focus magnification, no ability to set aperture in A mode, etc. Any ideas or experience would be welcome before I return the adapter. Advertisement Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Hi likealeica, Take a look here Leica m lenses on Olympus EPL-3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lemalk Posted January 11, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 11, 2012 There is no actual contact connection with manual lenses like the Ms. I use an E-P2, and there is only focus magnification with actual Micro Four Thirds lenses. There is an option on the E-P2 (one button on the back, INFO, I believe) and you can then switch between modes (histogram, exposure compensation, and manual focus magnification). Hope that helps. vanhulsenbeek Posted January 11, 2012 Share #3 Posted January 11, 2012 AFAIK, there is focus magnification with Pana G camera's. I had the first, and it worked. But, were you really expecting that the Oly would set an aperture on a manual lens through a simple adapter?
likealeica Posted January 11, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted January 11, 2012 No, I was trying to get focus magnification, and trying to set aperture to match lens setting. Could not do either.
likealeica Posted January 11, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted January 11, 2012 Just figured it out. I will post here just in case it helps someone else. (1) set Func button to start MF. (2) press magnifying glass button TWICE. Picture jumps to 14x for manual focusing. For aperture set aperture on lens. Set camera to P or A mode.
