IWC Doppel Posted January 8, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone experimented with car colours to gets a good paint match to the Leica silver ? I have found an interesting hood at £7 from flea bay (39mm screw on) and fancy seeing what it might look like silver to match my silver 35mm lens. I can experiment but if someone has been there first that would be great
Advertisement Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Hi IWC Doppel, Take a look here Silver colour matching. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tobey bilek Posted January 8, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2012 I want to wish you good luck painting aluminum. I could never do it and keep it from chipping. Black anodized like the factory finish is best unless you take the piece to someone who can anodize it silver and then you will only get a close match. There are industrial paints that will work, but you can not buy them. Try an epoxy paint on primed aluminum.
