dyavrom Posted January 1, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) hey guys im new to the leica world but not so much with rangefinders. i just bought an M8 and recieved it today. very very excited about it, but it seems to have the vertical blue line of dead pixels on certain images, and also whenever the camera is turned on, it gives off this high pitched squeal that can only be heard when the camera is up to my eye...kinda annoying though. ive done some searching and "magnetostriction" seems to be the cause and it seemingly normal, but is there any hope of getting these two issues fixed? anyone with similar experience?? thanks so much

jaapv Posted January 1, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2012 Return it. This needs a sensor repair which may be expensive. The highpitched sound is normal.
