stuny Posted January 1, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted January 1, 2012 I especially like the 3rd. Lovely.
Photojazz Posted January 1, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted January 1, 2012 Thanks Stuart, actually the 3rd is probably the top shot of the group. Been by this spot hundreds of times, but not sure I ever saw the "shot" until that day. Good water flow right now helped it too. I think the lighting really added a lot to the shot, the bright tree edges and such, and the lighting in the background trees.
Bob Jackson Posted January 1, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted January 1, 2012 Memories of my youth. I spent my summers just over Clingman's Dome on the Cherokee Reservation. I've fished these streams for years, and they're still as beautiful as when I was a kid; just more traffic on the road. Great photos; in January and February it will be difficult to go over the top due to the ice on the roads. But the view from the top of Clingman's Dome in the crisp clear air of a winter night is breath taking.
Photojazz Posted January 1, 2012 Author Share #5 Â Posted January 1, 2012 Thanks Bob, they close the Clingman's Dome road in November-Dec, and it won't re-open until March 1 I Believe. Pity, I wish it was weather related closures. But their concern I am sure is changing weather and stranded travelers on some pretty curvy roads. Â They do close the road to Cherokee as well when weather is bad. Â You may wish to view some more of my Smokies photos, it's a big part of my stuff...
