JHAG Posted December 30, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I discovered recently my SL2 belongs to a pre-series issued by Leica as a test run. Apparently, these were a batch of 70 SL2 not intended for any sale. I happened to have one of these. Is it of any special value ? PS : It's in near pristine condition, with just a tiny mark on the bottom film hatch.

JHAG Posted December 30, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted December 30, 2011 136 98 03 * (ending with that "*") Apparently, the 03 * indicates the limited series. Information from a Leica private collector owning up to 3000 pieces. Does it come from the inner hidden vaults of Solms ?
jc_braconi Posted December 30, 2011 Share #4 Posted December 30, 2011 Yes it is the "3" of 75 from the "0" serie issued October 23th of 1973 the * means a duplicate number It is not a rarity but a special one and surely a special value but we do not give value in this forum Better to ask to your collector contact. JHAG Posted December 30, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted December 30, 2011 He doesn't know. He collects not for value, only for rarity and never re-sells anything. Thank you for your very precise reply.
