Perceval Posted December 26, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted December 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I inadvertently pressed the shutter button of my M6TTL with the speed dial set to Off. Immediately afterwards, the shutter would not operate at B and speeds up to a quarter-second. (The shutter stayed open until I turned the speed dial to the faster speeds). After some exercising at the higher speeds everything is back to normal. Was this episode a conseqence of operating the shutter when switched to Off or is it a symptom of a more sinister fault that may return?

gyoung Posted December 26, 2011 Share #2  Posted December 26, 2011 Last time I fired the shutter while in the off position it simply did B, probably a momentary hiccup  Gerry
Perceval Posted December 26, 2011 Author Share #3 Â Posted December 26, 2011 Thanks, Gerry; that's rather what I was hoping but it is still a bit odd, considering the Leica shutter reputation for reliability. I had been using the camera on a beach and wondered whether some sand particles had blown in while changing lenses and caused the problem.
gyoung Posted December 26, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted December 26, 2011 I have had a couple of little mechanical hiccups with the M6ttl wind/interlock, but so far nothing that hasn't responded to a bit of 'fiddling'. Never hapened with the M3 in 40 years, maybe 'fings ain't what they used to be' ;-) Rather that though than the infuriating failures that come with electronic gizmos, hope you enjoy the M6ttl for a long time.
