dave.gt Posted December 25, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted December 25, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not sure where to put this post, but I have spent a glorious year with my Leica R4, using it for documentary work and portraits. Before that, I did not even know that Leica made an SLR, but I stumbled across Thorsten Overgaard somehow on this forum and the information gathered from him and the other kind folks on this forum have made me very happy indeed. Â Due to family medical circumstances, I cannot get an M digital as the cost is just too dear. But, using the R system, I have found the best solution for my photography and will be purchasing an R8 next week to complement the R4. B/W film and Color. Different ISO film for each camera, etc. Â I only wish I could afford the DMR to go with it. Or an M8 to complement my M3. But, alas, it is just not within reach anytime soon. Â There are a number of folks on this forum that have been an inspiration, a resource and a friend in my short time here. I look forward to learning more from each of you! Â Wishing you all a very prosperous and Happy New Year!

kdemas Posted December 30, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted December 30, 2011 Dave- You'll love the R8, terrific camera. Check the film rail (plastic piece near take up) to make sure it isn't rough. Can cause film scratching. Â I've had a few R9s, loved em! F6 eventually caused me to sell them in SLR consolidation. Â Happy Shooting in '12!
