eleskin Posted December 20, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know the Nex 7 has some problems with Leica M wide lenses. What I am wondering is if anyone on this forum has had a chance to use a Noctilux f1.0 and/or a 35mm Summicron, 35mm Summilux, 35mm F1.2 Nokton, etc,,,. I would consider buying the NEX 7 as a camera for 35mm lenses and longer focal lengths as far as Leica M lenses are concerned. I did read Steve Huff's review with M wide's and the review on Luminos Landscape with unfavorable results. I did not see much with the 35mm focal length and only a few with Steve Huff regarding the Noctilux.

algrove Posted December 21, 2011 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2011 Did you get your NEX-7? I ask since I had not heard of any shipped to customers in the US as yet.
eleskin Posted December 22, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted December 22, 2011 I only bought the Nex 5n but I am considering the Nex 7 for some applications. I am really impressed with the image quality the Nex 5n sensor is capable of with a Noctilux. Here is an example. Welcome, dear visitor! Question-Did you use the Noctilux with the built-in lens hood #11822? Assume you used f 1.0. What speed? Also what PP did you use for us to see the image? Thanks. andybarton Posted December 22, 2011 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2011 There is horrible jpg compression in that shot above - it's only 61kb. If you are trying to show the quality of a lens, via the web (which is very difficult anyway), please repost at the forum limit of 300kb.
