Guest Metroman Posted July 17, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Took the D2 for its first outing yesterday. Shot RAW and no processing - yet! Sharpened in Lightroom. Bigger gallery for those who like 'big cars and lots of chrome'.
Advertisement Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Hi Guest Metroman, Take a look here American Beauty. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
abrewer Posted July 17, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2006 She's beautiful, Andy! Someone in the UK definately has a one-of-a-kind collectible here. The woodie look is pure "Americana", for better or worse. The attraction must have been the chrome!!! Thanks. Allan
stuny Posted July 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 17, 2006 Andy - I had no idea that a Chrysler woodie made it to the UK, much less suvived for more than a half century. I'm glad you were able to catch it without anybody near it.
Guest Metroman Posted July 19, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 19, 2006 Stuart I didn't catch the Woodies owner so no info. A lot of the cars from the 60's onwards originally came to the UK - and Germany - with the guys posted to the various USAF bases here. When they finished their tour they didn't bother taking them back home and just sold them off cheap. I was at USAF Lakenheath for awhile when I was in the Royal Marines and somewhere I have a phot of a very large air transport with doors open and full of cars being unloaded by their owners who had just arrived. The Model T on my web site gallery came via Canada and Australia!
