hoppyman Posted December 19, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted December 19, 2011 Ryan, amyukie has shown you our power points correctly. I'm not sure exactly what the X1 charger looks like. If it has the individual pin modules rather than just a separate figure eight appliance lead it sounds like the old style M8 charger.Your module then may have just the active and neutral pins (the two angled ones) and not the third (earth) pin. However if you arrive without the correct one you can still easily source a plug adapter locally if needed. The voltage conversion is done by the charger itself
iwh88 Posted December 20, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted December 20, 2011 Ryan: I purchased the X1 in Brisbane recently, it came with a universal charger that also had several small electric plug adapters that fit onto the front of the charger to suit various locations. As you can see from above pictures, the normal 10 amp Australian wall socket accepts the slanted prong type plug adapter. Did you get a charger and some plug adapters for the charger in the X1 box? If yes, all you have to do is fit the slanted prong plug adapter to the charger, plug into the mains socket and wait 3 hours!! If not, you can go to a shop such as Dick Smith Electrical (branches all over Australia) and they will likely have something to suit. What not to do is twist a straight prong plug adapter with a pair of pliers, as you may damage the connection on the inside and this could lead to a fire. ryan1938 Posted December 20, 2011 Author Share #5 Â Posted December 20, 2011 Yeah... That's my problem. My x1 came with all of those ends for the charger, however I somehow got 2 north american plugs and no australian plugs... OR at least, I don't have one with slanted prongs. iwh88 Posted December 20, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted December 20, 2011 Ryan: Purchase an international electrical adapter from a duty free shop (around $10) that plugs into the Australian mains socket. At the back of this adapter, you can plug into it the rounded or straight prongs given with the X1 in US.
