Not sure we really talked about this at any length but just fooling around in Lightroom today with a file that really is blown quite a bit than i went and recovered it as best I could in lightroom playing with the curves which Lightroom really adopted some nice controls from Raw premium. Maybe folks can try some of this and see how far you can go before falling off the earth. i could probably push this further but this is pretty interesting.

 

First one Out of the box and second obviously some work done

There coming up to light to start, need to fix something. My fault CS3 got all reloaded and everything is off , need to fix this and try some others

My first day with M8 files was a revelation for exactly this reason: I was used to 5D files and Pro SLR/n files, and you can push the M8 files WAY further UNLESS they've been exposed in poor light at 640 plus. Otherwise they rock.

Now this one is really bringing it all back from the highlights and still maintaining the detail in the shadows. This is overcast but pretty amazing it looks like you can pull 2 stops out of it
