jamriman Posted February 21, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just sold my current version. Does this one or the M6J mount on the M8 without sensor damage? Sorry for repeat post, just confused. I also was under the impression that VC heliar is compatible. Thanks
jaapv Posted February 21, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted February 21, 2007 The current one mounts and collapses without damage. I just got it - coded etc.
cnguyen Posted February 21, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted February 21, 2007 I posted the same question while back and saw a pic of the M8 and 50mm f2.8 lens partially collapsed into the body. I have the 50mm f2.8 current as well but have not tried to collapse it all the way in.
sparkie Posted February 21, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted February 21, 2007 the M6J lens does NOT collapse all the way into an M8. others who have the current 50/2.8 elmar lens (though not the very latest ones with 6 bit coding) say it does not collapse in either. Leica may have redesigned the collapsible part of the lens of the very latest elmars so they collapse in fully?
jaapv Posted February 21, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted February 21, 2007 I would have to look side by side, as mine is three weeks old. The booklet with the lens carries a warning for the CL and the M5 but NOT for the M8. It collapses harmlessly without problem.
