KingOfNails Posted November 30, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I've just received my grandfathers 1960 M3 as a gift and was wondering if you would help with a film recommendation. I have no intentions of shooting for slides but love the look of color reversal film. What are my options? Thanks!

doolittle Posted November 30, 2011 Share #2 Posted November 30, 2011 Kodak Ektar or Portra are worth a look. Maybe black and white? Lots of nice films to choose from. I like Kodak TriX and Fuji Neopan 100 acros , but there are plenty more.
earleygallery Posted December 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted December 1, 2011 Options. Slide film - you don't want to shoot slides though. Exposure needs to be spot on, not much room for error. C41 colour neg - you can always convert images to B&W too, the most 'versatile' option C41 B&W film - same process but B&W images only. Better if you want B&W but aren't doing your own processing. Traditional B&W film - easy to process yourself at home. To start with, assuming you aren't doing your own processing/scanning, try a colour neg film and get the lab to process and scan to CD for you. Double Negative Posted December 1, 2011 Share #4 Posted December 1, 2011 Ektar is a pretty interesting film. Good ISO at 100, therefore low grain and good sharpness. Colors can be normal to saturated depending on exposure. Pretty good latitude also. Being C41, of course, it can be developed anywhere including 30m photo joints.
