If you have been unable to find one from an Aussie dealer, you could try an international dealer of course. BHPhoto in New York? I wouls check with Popflash. They are very responsive and helpful and I personally recommend them without reservation.

Don't forget to check the forum's own classifieds!

There are no Leica external viewfinder for X1 available in Australia where I live. Can anyone suggest a best way to buy one without going on e.Bay. Thanks. Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

I got mine direct from Amazon a couple of weeks ago - USD$329.

Regards,

Ken

Hi,

Where about are you in Australia?

Camera Lane Online Store: Cameras, Lenses, Demo & Used Equipment, Flash Guns, Accessories

The Camera Exchange

These 2 shops are in Melbourne. I bought my view finder from Camera Lane.

You should give them a call. They both authorise Leica Dealer as well.

Cheers,

David :)

Hi guys, very new to leica but love it. Cannot believe the quallity.

I shopped around Melbourne and was given $1950 for x1 at camera lane and $1900 at Michaels.

Both included the view finder - actually one said leica throwing it in which made me think new model around the corner.

Rodders, welcome to the forum and Leica ownership.

Inclusion of the viewfinder does suggest a successor model is over the horizon. But that is conjecture. Your X1 will continue to serve you for a very long time. Enjoy!

I have finally taken the plunge and purchased a Leica viewfinder. As I live in Australia, I checked out prices overseas and got a used one in near perfect condition from a branch of London Camera Exchange (£199).
