I seem to recall seeing some in a thread here but I've no had no luck finding them with the search engine.

I'd like to take my LC-1 apart for a thorough cleaning and inspection, and to replace the glass screen over the EVF (mine is scratched) and want to get better idea of what will be involved. I successfully disassembled it the other night to the point where I could tighten the lens mount screws, so I'm semi-confident I'm up to the challenge, but maybe not?

Jeffrey, that was me... if you've got to the stage of tightening the screws which secure the lens barrel to the front casting, you're pretty much there. I certainly recommend you do NOT disassemble the lens barrel but you should be able to remove the EVF which is a Sony part. Don't even think of removing the sensor from the back of the lens. Take care of the flash capacitor - it can retain its charge for a long time and give you a nasty shock if you do not discharge it.

Do you know from which camera? If the part is the same as on the LC-1/D2, then I might as well buy it from the least expensive source...

I have experience using flash caps in power supplies for vacuum tube electronics, so I know to beware. That said, I still managed to get bit when I was modifying my L1 to remove the flash-cap hidden under the grip (a necessary step for my "poor-man's digital back" project) even after I thought I had discharged it fully. Oops!

BTW, are your D2 photos available online anywhere? I'd like to look at them again, just out of curiousity.

Thanks!
