PATB Posted February 18, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am thinking of getting a B+W 010 UV Haze Filter to protect my 50mm cron. Is this filter good enough or should I get one from Leica? Â Also, is a UV-Haze (like the B+W 010) the same as a regular UV filter? Â Thanks much in advance for any info. Advertisement Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Hi PATB, Take a look here B+W 010 UV Haze MRC Filter -- good enough?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Photoskeptic Posted February 18, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted February 18, 2007 Pat, I have both the Leica UVa filter and the B+W Haze. Subjectively the Haze is somewhat clearer than the Leica. I don't use either one. These are the 39mm for the 50 Summicron. If you want one I'll take $15 for either one, shipped.

PATB Posted February 18, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted February 18, 2007 Thanks for the offer John. A friend of mine is selling me his B+W 010 39mm -- if that is even better than the Leica, I will just take him up on it. I wasn't sure the B+W is good enough, hence the post. mwilliamsphotography Posted February 19, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted February 19, 2007 Make sure you can mount the hood after putting on the B+W filter. Some of them interfere with the hood. I switched to Heliopan MCs for that reason.
