dkCambridgeshire Posted November 5, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Gauge 1 model 'City of Truro' steam locomotive pulling rake of 4 BR Western Region Mk I coaches. In 1904, the 'City of Truro' was the first steam locomotive to exceed 100mph. 'City of Truro' on Grasmere Controller's garden railway ... Wembley UK 'City of Truro' at speed I recently visited my blind pal PW in Wembley to take a few photos of his Guage 1 model railway. PW and his Guage 1 enthusiast friends have regular meetings when they operate their locomotives and rolling stock in PW's back garden. PW's blindness does not prevent him enjoying his hobby. He operates the trains via radio control and relies on sound and touch; the locos travel at scale speeds of 100mph. In order to try and capture the third picture of the train at speed I panned the camera handheld (which was a bit hit and miss) whilst PW drove the loco past me and then reversed it back again for 'another take'. Next time I'll remember to use a tripod. All photos taken with Leica X1. Best wishes dunk

pauledell Posted November 5, 2011 Share #2 Posted November 5, 2011 Terrific pictures with the panorama format, I like them all and you did an incredible job capturing the third with the panning. Paul
