Keith (M) Posted November 4, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) This week saw the arrival of a chrome M4 (sourced from Peter Loy), an ideal companion for my 35mm Summaron f2.8. The M4 is from the 1967 first batch and the lens from 1968 (both according to Leica_wiki). The combination is a delight to handle and both are just so smooth to operate. Hard to credit that both are well over forty years old. (Picture below). Also pictured is the M4 in contrast to the M9 and M7. The M4 could almost be described as petite in such company! TomB_tx Posted November 4, 2011 Share #5 Posted November 4, 2011 Very nice! I bought mine in 1968 - 2nd batch of 67. Still use it, and it feels smoother than my other Ms.
spydrxx Posted November 6, 2011 Share #6 Posted November 6, 2011 Brings back memories...that was my first kit in the late 1960s. Stupidly I sold the Summaron in the 1990s, but still use the M4 body with other lenses these days.
Carl E Posted November 7, 2011 Share #7 Posted November 7, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here is mine. Just like the one pictured on the 70'ies M4 brochure that I collected as a teenager. Now, in my mature years I am the happy owner of the very camera I dreamed of then, recently CLA'ed and good to go for another 40 years Welcome, dear visitor!
