Double Negative Posted October 19, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted October 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey gang! Â FYI, just posted today - the Zeiss Planar T* 2/50 ZM lens review. Â "The Zeiss Planar T* 2/50 ZM lens compares directly to the Leica Summicron 50mm f/2 in many ways. They're of the same focal length and speed, neither lens utilizes aspherical elements and both offer fantastic (if not identical) image quality." Â Enjoy, everyone! Â In case you missed it, these other ZMs were previously reviewed: Â Zeiss Biogon T* 2,8/25 ZM Zeiss Biogon T* 2/35 ZM Zeiss C Sonnar T* 1,5/50 ZM Â More on the way... MarkP Posted October 31, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted October 31, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mate nice review but members on this forum will never admit acknowledge a great non-Leica lens here. Â I have a 1.5/50 C-Sonnar and newly acquired 4.5/21 Biogon. These are in addition to 1.4/21 Summilux ASPH, 1.0/50 Noctilux and 1.4/50 Summilux ASPH lenses within the same focal length. I consider the Zeiss lenses to be different, not inferior. Â Personally, the Sonnar suits what I need more that the Planar: fast, light , and a very different rendering to the Summilux. It's not so much a direct competition as they all have their own signature. In some cases it's a bit more blurred (e.g. Planar vs. Summicron) but say, the Sonnar and Summilux - wildly different beasts. They all have their purpose - which is good, as I like lenses.
