Are M-lens profile corrections available for Lightroom 3?

Does anyone have, or know where one can find, reliable Leica M Lens profile corrections for Lightrooom, and if so how are these added to LR?

I don't think I have the experience or expertise to accurately construct them myself.

It's beyond me that Leica bundles LR with the M9 but does not provide such profiles (although they are already embedded in LR3 for the three S2 Summarit lenses).

Mark as far as I know there are none. What is it that you would like to correct though?

I don't know if you have looked at examples from the S2 corrections but they are pretty subtle. Those lenses are extremely good of course but since the opposition in medium format has the options.....

You probably know that there is significant correction related to vignetting and the red corners issue in the firmware (even in the DNGs).

Sandy's Cornerfix (free from him) can be used for some functions if desired.

Apart from that you can make any settings or combination of settings you like in the Develop Module of Lightroom and save them as a pre-set, if you want.

I think in general the profiles are intended for lenses such as zooms etc that might need more adjustment than is likely from the Leica M primes.

Chromatic aberration is not exactly prevalent with Leica M lenses!

You might want to experiment with the Transform controls if you wanted???

Thanks David and Geoff.

More than happy with your explanations. I had assumed that there may be some benefit from such profiles, especially with wide angle lenses.

I too have been happy with the results I've had with LR RAW conversion.
