In any case, do you guys know if Leica sells replacement lens cap or is there an alternative? I've called B&H and adorama with no luck. DwF Posted October 19, 2011 Share #7  Posted October 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I lost mine in St. Jean pied du port on the French side of the Pyranees. It was actually a nice way to lose it as it afforded an opportunity to troll around a river bed that ran beneath the main street while diners were out in numbers at the various cafes. It was dusk and I was on my way out to dinner, when taken with the reflections off the river from a bridge above I stopped to photograph.  That aside, I was prepared because when I decided to take the cap caddy off I figured it was only a matter of time that I would lose my cap. I had purchased a generic 49mm cap and find that it works as well and looks just fine. As Leica caps go, I never really cared for the X1 cap. The generic cap (I forget the name but found mine at Glazers in Seattle) was a few dollars. I plan to pick up another.  I feel a strange liberation from the need to have a Leica cap now  DwF

dkCambridgeshire Posted November 2, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted November 2, 2011 Just received a JJC 'Auto lens Cap' and very happy with it. My original X1 lens cap and tube have been relegated to the original X1 'chest of drawers' The JJC cap is a splendid solution to the 'where shall I put the lens cap so it will not get lost' problem.
