Half-Handed Posted October 10, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, don't know if any of you can help but I figured it was worth a shot. My trusty CM has developed a fault where it's regularly underexposing film - ISO400 in daylight shot wide open is returning shutter speeds of 1/10 or even slower. I contacted Leica who said they no longer repair the CM. Does anyone know of anyone who does? I'd be gutted to have to give up the camera.

Some years ago, i think it was 2 year after CM was discontinued i sent in the camera to Solms. It came back with a note that the spare parts were now forbidden in EU for environmental reasons, so they must scrap the camera. I got a cheque back on what the camera had cost me to use on other Leica Gear. But try to send it in. Hopefully your problem is concerning other parts in the camera. I don't know if this helps, but the well known Scottish dealer has a s/h CM, just in, for £299.
wattsy Posted October 16, 2011 Share #5 Posted October 16, 2011 I contacted Leica who said they no longer repair the CM. That's a real shame - I know the years fly by but it doesn't seem that long ago that the CM was introduced. It came back with a note that the spare parts were now forbidden in EU for environmental reasons, so they must scrap the camera. I got a cheque back on what the camera had cost me to use on other Leica Gear. I guess that explains why Leica are not willing to repair the OP's CM. Presumably you were given the choice to have the faulty camera back instead of accept the voucher?
